22 Student-Athletes Participate in National Signing Day

Students, parents and coaches gathered at Central High School for a celebratory breakfast and photograph session, aimed at honoring the student-athletes. The event highlights the accomplishments of student-athletes and celebrates their commitment to play their sport at a collegiate level.

“This is the fourth year we have held a National Signing day event on a large scale,” said Athletic Director Tripp Becker. “Last year we had six students participate, and this year we have 22. I’m really proud of the work that our student-athletes are doing and it’s great to recognize and reward their efforts.”

During the event, students sign their official letter of intent (Division I) or commitment (Division II or III) and are photographed with their parents and coaches. Their college of choice is noted by a baseball cap on the table, showing where they will attend. The colleges represented are a mix of Division I, II & III schools.

The student-athletes who participated represent a variety of sports and choice of colleges. A complete list of participants and the colleges they have committed to is below. The event represented all student-athletes committing to collegiate athletics at this time. Another event will be held for students who have not yet committed to a school.

“I really appreciate Tripp Becker’s efforts to acknowledge our student athletes,” said Superintendent Smith. “We have a number of Division I athletes but also Division II and III athletes and it’s nice to acknowledge all the students who are choosing to participate in athletics in college.”
